"Mom, you need to take a picture of my wrist so you can blog about it! I need more blog-time!!... You don't blog about me enough!"
I had been getting calls from the school every day since Winter Break that one of my kids was "sick"- nauseated, breathless, dizzy, ear ache, stomach ache, ingrown toenail.... You name it, one of my kids called home about it. They had all been sick before Christmas and were really workin' it - wanting to stay home. I had told them NOT TO CALL ME UNLESS THEY WERE VOMITING, BLEEDING PROFUSELY, OR HAD BROKEN A BONE!

Caitlin called one afternoon absolutely sobbing. The first thing she said was, "Mom, I'm so sorry for calling you!" She slipped on the ice at lunch and sprained her wrist. The nurse wasn't there that day. She had toughed-it-out for an hour, then lost it during reading because of the pain.
I felt bad that she had been afraid to call me. But all is well in Montana!!!

Way to go Mom!! That is funny. I tell my kids the same thing when they are jumping on the trampoline, except mine is for tattling.
Sorry about your wrist Caitlin! Did you know I broke my arm in four places during recess in first grade? It was my right arm too so I had to use my left hand at school to write. Good luck!
