We had a GREAT time visiting family in Idaho & Utah this weekend for my parents' 50th Anniversary. Dirk's family surprised us all with a visit, which was a highlight of the trip! It had been much too long since I had seen them! I will post pictures from the event when I receive them from family.
We spent Sunday with Reid's parents. He stayed home with his Dad on Sunday so his Mom could go to church with me & the kids. It was the first time she's been able to go to church this year. She needed the uplift and Reid needed the time with his Dad.
On our way home Sunday night we discovered that Monida Pass on I-15 was closed at Dubois, Idaho due to low visibility -blowing & drifting snow. Dubois was stock-full of 18-wheelers, & the only motel had NO VACANCY. Hwy 20 through Island Park was also closed, so we drove back to Idaho Falls & stayed in a hotel for the night.
They were still closed the next morning, so we checked the internet, took pictures...and waited...a.jpg)

We checked the internet, loaded the car, checked out of the hotel...and waited....jpg)

We pouted, ate lunch at Sizzler, met my parents to get my eye-glasses back (a whole other story), checked the internet...and waited...a.jpg)

We drove up I-15 again & found that it was now closed 20 miles closer to I.F., so we parked, the kids played, and we waited...a.jpg)

We drove into Rexburg, found a spot where we had internet access and found-out that Hwy 20 was open, so we decided to take the long way home!! Our adventure ended when we arrived home around 8:30 p.m. Monday night!
