Cool Concert! 4/10/09

We made another trip back to Pocatello the following week because Caitlin had a concert at the Stephens Performing Arts Center that she did NOT want to miss just because of a little move to another state. They were so good--not what you expect to hear when going to a Middle School Concert! Mrs. Kenney (who is actually from Helena) has done a wonderful job teaching these kids! It was a really neat experience. After the Middle School Orchestra played in the Rotunda, they were visited by Chung Park, the conductor of the Idaho State Civic Symphony. He had brought with him the La Catrina Quartet, who played for us & taught the kids. It was absolutely amazing! I have never heard anything like it, especially in person!! It wasn't your traditional string quartet. They even played songs you would hear on the streets of Mexico being played by a Mariachi Band on trumpets & guitars.
