Garrett Gang: America's Jr. Miss 3/8/09

Caitlin, Ethan, & I attended a Multi-Stake Fireside for the youth at the Stephens Performing Arts Center on the ISU Campus.The main speaker was America's Jr. Miss 2008, Lindsey Brinton. She is LDS & from Salt Lake City, UT. She was very impressive! She also played a few pieces on the piano. The part my kids liked most was when she quoted Elaine S. Dalton, First Counselor in the Young Women General Presidency:
"Have you ever noticed that nearly all of Satan’s attacks are directed at your body? Pornography, immodesty, tattoos, immorality, drug abuse, and addictions are all efforts to take possession of this precious gift. This was a gift that was denied Satan."

If there's anything at all I would want them to remember, THAT would be it!! If we recognize the source of the temptation it is a lot easier to have NO DESIRE to fall into his trap!

She stayed after the fireside with her parents & 16 year-old brother to visit with everyone. Ethan REALLY DIDN'T want to meet her, so he stood off by the wall! (But he said she was really pretty!) It's so confusing to be a 12 year-old boy!!
