Ten Year Old Talent 3/12/09

The 4th grade had a music program with a showcase of talent from individual students interspersed between numbers. Some students opted to do a display instead of a talent, & some students were eliminated from the talent part of the show & asked to do displays! Austin's talent made the cut. He did basketball tricks to the song "Get Your Head in the Game" from "High School Musical". It was really cute. They did a lot of songs about their heroes & their talents, i.e. Albert Einstein, Helen Keller, Jesse Owens, Moms & Dads, etc. Austin was asked to sing a solo because it was "too high" for all the other boys. He was a little embarrassed that he could sing that high, but at least he sings on key! As usual the video isn't that great, but at least you can hear him sing.At the end of the video Austin stops & poses for a picture, but we were actually video-taping him! So he stands there waiting for the flash, & I am motioning to him to WALK OFF THE STAGE!!! (We take video with our regular "still" camera.) It was so funny. We tease him about it. He stood there longer than it shows on the video because Reid stopped it long before he actually walked off stage. We had a great laugh!

Nice to get updated on what is happening with the Garrett gang. It is weird to be back here in Butte without you guys. We miss you!!

Your kids are so talented! They must get that from their mother.
