We bought our vacuum right before we moved to Montana 3 years ago. It's the vacuum with the lift-off canister. I have loved it! I have never had a single problem with it; not ever a clog, or even a broken belt.
It started smoking a few months ago, so I took it apart & discovered the problem. The plug where the lift-off canister connects to the vacuum base was burnt. One of the prongs had broken off inside its' attachment. I figured it was from my kids using the vacuum.
I was so sad! I hadn't submitted the warranty info. since I bought it while we were moving, & I didn't want to buy a new vacuum! I checked online, & the nearest Bissell repair was 75 miles away! So I found the Bissell company online & emailed them, asking if they could send me a part so I could fix it myself.
They emailed me & said they would just send me a new remanufactured vacuum! It is an upgrade from my old one. I received it last week & I am so happy with it.
It is also a BIG BONUS, that I don't have to vacuum with the shop-vac anymore!

Go Bissell. Nice to know they are good to work with. Glad you didn't buy a new one.
I am glad that you finally got your new vacuum. That is great you don't have to use a shop vac anymore.
