My Dad called. He was missing the keys to a tractor. He wanted to know if any of our kids had played in it while we were there. I gathered the kids, and sure enough, Cameron & Brooklin had been playing in the tractor!
Cameron said they had removed the keys from the ignition and subsequently from the cab of the tractor! They couldn't get back into the tractor, so they left them on the hood. My Dad hustled his "post-heart-surgery" body out to the tractor and, lo and behold, there they were!! I can't believe they were still there!
Grandpa was upset, but relieved! Cameron & Brooklin sat down and wrote him letters of apology. See if you can figure them out! Brooklin got mad at her brother & ripped hers in half. I told her to rewrite it, but instead she glued it back together with Elmers glue!
The following week I received another call from my Dad...remember, he just had heart surgery. Apparently my children had been playing on his treadmill. He sat down on it to plug it back into the wall and it shot him at high speed off the end of it!! Someone had turned it on & increased the speed as high as it would go. Oooops!!! I received more than one confession for that one. There will be more apology letters on the way.
Dad survived with a few scrapes. Sternum is still in tact. The mental video that plays in my mind brings me to tears of laughter. We love you Grandpa!!!

This story had me laughing out loud--in the library! I couldn't help it! Kids are so great, the things they do are truly priceless. What great stories you get to tell, Darci :)
